CocoPink – give out your number with style
Be remembered, be treasured; don’t hand out your Kinkos circa 1980 card. Before you turn around, it’s in the can. Make it matter because people recognize quality and they ascribe it to you.

We LOVE these!
Make a lasting impression with these locally designed calling cards.

How many times have you jotted your name and number on a cocktail napkin-- or been the recipient of one such -- only to never see it again? Ever meet that guy in a bar and want to give him your card, but aren't ready for him to be giving you that surprise call at work? Are you a busy mom, fumbling among diaper bags and purses, looking for a pen to give out your number for carpool?

For those people you meet on a casual basis, cocopink has created these hip calling cards. Hand them one of these and you'll be remembered with style.

Shower Power!

This is not your Grandma’s shower cap, nor is it the boring frumpy one you pilfer from the hotels. These are so cool. Blue Raven’s Cap in a Box! They make the perfect hostess gift.

Save your Do with The Kitty Cap (our fave…get it, kitty cap?) or the Lounge Cap and other kitschy and stylin’ caps. You know these are hip since they are sold at Henri Bendel’s in New York.

Welcome Mat!

The microbes and dirt go marching into your home by the millions! But now you can stop the little buggers in their tracks.

There’s a knock on the door. It’s Jimmy the neighbor boy wanting to play. He is welcome but you give the evil eye to his germ infested Sponge Bob shoes. Rather than making him take them off, just kill those little suckers on the Dr Doormat welcome mat. Jimmy is welcome; the germs are not.

We know we are a little obsessive about germs. First there’s the antibacterial wipes for our hands, and now the kitchen, the bathroom, the Purel, the doctor’s masks, heck we might as well live in a plastic bubble.

But wait, now you can rest easy with Dr. Doormat. You just wipe your feet and wha-lah,

How do they get in you ask?
Right on the bottom of your shoes, just the way that 90% of all household dirt and harmful pollutants do, including dust mites! Ewwww-y.

What can you do to stop them?
Wiping your shoes twice on Dr. Doormat removes 99% of the debris on the bottom of your shoes, which includes toxins, harmful pollutants and microorganisms.

What will they think of next?! And it’s really quite normal looking, so you can be savvy and safe.

Available online at www.drdoormat.com.

  Travel Pick:

Ho-hum, fall is here, and with it the eternal months of gray. We’re not complaining, mind you. That’s why we choose to live in this fair city, but sometimes we get a little SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and we need a little shot of sun and fun to remedy our funk, like, say, a periodic visit to our own private tropical island. Yes, that would do the trick.

Wouldn’t it be lovely to live on a 1,100 acre private island in the British West Indies? Picture yourself: 8 miles of shoreline, a 5,200 foot paved jet strip and customs house for your travel convenience, three miles of white sand beaches, a member’s lodge and spa. All this and so much more is yours for the taking at the proposed Turks & Caicos Sporting Club at Ambergris Cay.

A fortunate few will build their homes here, or forever wish they had. Waterfront home sites range from $500,000 to $3.5 million. Now is your chance to lay early claim to one of the British West Indies' few remaining pristine islands. Spectacular seascape home sites and private equity sporting club. Ahhhhhhh, it’s so dreamy.

Portland Pick’s Cocktail of the Week:

Rasmopolitan (from www.Marthastewart.com)

Bring the summer cocktail season to a sassy close with Martha Stewart’s clever take on the traditional Cosmopolitan cocktail. In a salute to the end of the balmy weather and the end of Martha’s legal troubles, we bring you the Rasmopolitan. We love you, Martha!

Makes one cocktail:

1 oz. citrus-flavored vodka
1 oz. raspberry-flavored vodka
½ oz. Chambord
1 Tbsp. freshly squeezed limejuice
1 Tbsp. simple syrup (recipe at www.marthastewart.com) or bar syrup
2 Tbsp. cranberry juice
Raspberries, for garnish

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add vodkas, Chambord, limejuice, simple syrup, and cranberry juice. Shake or stir until well chilled. Strain into a martini glass. Garnish with raspberries; serve.
